This position is accountable for managing the Bank’s new and existing SBA loan relationships.
Location: Covington office or Remote
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
- Manage assigned portfolio communicating with SBA borrowers on questions and/or concerns with their existing loans.
- Open communication with borrowers to ensure timely payments.
- Keeps loan files up to date, answers credit inquiries, and prepares memos as necessary for credit files.
- Follow loans to insure conformity with terms and/or conditions.
- Collect financial information, analyze the data, and complete written reviews of the borrower’s current financial condition.
- Manage requests for servicing actions requested by the borrower. Collect and analyze necessary information ensuring continued compliance with SBA SOP.
- Work with the SBSL Servicing Department to maintain current tickler items.
- Assist Special Assets with collection of documents and organization of loan files for submitting to SBA.
- Assist Special Assets with SBA reporting and liquidation actions as required.
- Maintain understanding of the SBA SOPs to maintain knowledge of requirements in SBA lending and servicing.
- Conducts loan functions using established Colony Bank and SBSL loan policies and procedures.
- Complies with all bank and personnel policies and procedures including but not limited to policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Complete periodic training provided and/or required by Colony including but not limited to BSA training within required time frames assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, or accounting preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years financial analysis experience required.
- Minimum 5 years SBA lending/servicing/portfolio management experience required.
- Minimum 5 years SBA loan collection experience required.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of bank products, services, policies, and operational procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of SBA SOP 50 57 and lending laws and regulations.
- Significant knowledge of all areas of SBA loan origination, SBA SOP 50 10, processing, underwriting, and closing.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate complex facts to a variety of people.
- Ability to manage all aspects of an SBA loan portfolio.
- Requires contact with the general public.
