What you’ll do:
Customers Bank has an immediate opening for a Small Business Lender. The Small Business Lender serves the banking needs of small businesses to pro-actively operate at the heart of the local business community, to build new relationships and actively manage a portfolio. The client base will consist of business owners, owner occupied real estate, investment real estate, non-profits, and C&I loans.
We are looking for a highly motivated, team player, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Responsible for sales and outreach efforts lead lists, internal and external referrals, COI’s, cold calling and other ways to attract business.
  • Drives relationship management by identifying cross-selling opportunities and introducing our Product partners to help provide a full banking proposition.
  • Under the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) the small business lender is expected to do joint calling and prospecting with Product partners depending on the situation Develop a targeted COI (center of influence) list and have a detailed plan to build relationships that lead to referral business in support of goal.
  • Build your individual market profile as well as the profile of Customers Bank in the local community.
  • Effectively utilizes the resources / tools available to manage the call / relationship management consistent sales process and activities Required to make a target number of in person calls to prospects, customers, COIs and internal partners weekly and monthly.
  • Sells solutions including opening deposit accounts, completing the entire loan origination process and servicing the ongoing needs of customers.
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of customers, expected to grow portfolio by deepening existing relationships Primary focus is on new business development for lending and deposits.
  • General knowledge of business credit underwriting proven ability to develop, retain and expand relationships with COIs.
  • Use and understanding of salesforce, and all bank technology tools, that ensure the lender and the bank’s success in performing processes and following procedures necessary to input and track productivity.
  • Maintain weekly and all required pipeline reports.
  • Maintaining minimal delinquencies and update reports weekly.
  • Input of credit applications and packages into the Salesforce and SBLG system.
What do you need? 
  • 5+ years of experience, loan production in a Small Business Lending role, using customized business software, Internet/Online systems, and customer relationship management systems (CRM)
  • Professional services work environment exposure preferred.
  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting
  • Strong business development skills
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements for lending
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
